Vampire Weekend Going Mainstream?
Sunday, February 28, 2010

Watched the new video of 'Giving Up The Gun' about a week back...

...and something inside me died a little.
That 'something' is probably my *ohmygoshVampireWeekend* fan-ism.
Watch the video and you'll probably find out why...
I'll give you a hint; he used to be in a horrid boy band (not to say that he's any less horrid without them).

__________

Bonjour!

School's been a bit hectic for me since I always try to squeeze in studying time amidst the homework.Plus, I've started exercising every other day.

Oh, and my cousin just had her engagement ceremony yesterday at Tok's house.
Kak Bilah looked so different with make up on.

Honestly, I prefer her without make up - she looks like a doll with it. >_<

Also took a family photo with the relatives whom were still at Tok's house.

Then, sat down on a chair and talked with my brother.
Surprisingly, his little sister gives more mature advice than his friends. *shrugs*
Looked up, and dad took a picture of us.

Dammit, my brother needs a haircut a.s.a.p!
Hah, and our eyes look shiny!
(probably due to the contact lenses we were wearing)

O-kay, I guess that's it for now.
Picture of heels yet to come; maybe next next week since I'm too lazy to take a picture of it.

Au revoir, mes amis!

EDIT:
Oh, wait, exams are coming!
I wish everyone the best of luck; even my ol' friends.
Haiyo, one more week to go before exams.
diediediediedie!

First Pair of Heels! (Not stilettos, but hey..)
Sunday, February 21, 2010

This happened yesterday night, so yeah.

Before eating dinner at the restaurant, my oldest brother and I left my parents and went to shop because we decided that it was better to do so than to just wait for the others to come.
So, we ended up in Vincci to look for a pair of shoes for me "to match my outfit".
Bro found a pair of blue peep-toe wedge heels, but I wanted it in black, so he took the black version off the shelf and I tried it on. It fit like a glove at a size 5, but I decided to have it in a size 6 just in case my feet grew or something.
So, I now own a pair of  RM59 heels, courtesy of my oldest brother! (he paid it with his own money)
This makes me love him even more; despite complaining due to toe pain throughout the ride home.

Oh, and why didn't I pick a pair of stilettos?
Because I'm afraid of them, and the fact that I might keel over as I attempt to walk.
Wedges are more stable than stilettos. 'nuff said.

[photo of new heels (and maybe blouse) yet to be added]

And I'm actually sad that Min's leaving for Australia tomorrow; his flight is at one in the afternoon, so I can't see him off, due to school. ):
But I'll see him before I go to school tomorrow since he wants to wake up early to buy Vampire Weekend tickets; VW's having a concert in Melbourne at the Palace Theater in May, and my brother doesn't want to miss it.
It's funny that he doesn't even mind enduring a drive to Bendigo to watch VW (he didn't notice that VW was also playing in Melbourne, before I checked the official website and told him so).
Aw, I wanna go with! ):

Oh, with all this hype about my oldest brother, I didn't even mention the whereabouts of my second, did I?
Well, Man's friends came over the other day to sleep over. They planned to go to Bukit Bintang at night with my brothers (my oldest as the driver).
So, my impression of them?
Hm, koreans, and not exactly bad-looking at all.
Ah, I guess I wasn't too friendly with them either, since the only interaction I had with them was merely a wave as I was lying down on the couch, watching 'Monk' (such a sociable person, I am).

I laughed, though, when my father asked for their names and one of them replied, "Jay.", but my father was all, "Huh? Jane?", making him repeat his name again and again until I looked at my dad and said, "Pa, I think he means 'Jay'.".
I heard him well enough since he was standing near the couch I was lying on. xD
Oh, and my second bro didn't join us for dinner (at One Utama) since he went to play futsal.

Yup, I think that's all.

Au revoir, Mesdames et Messieurs!

Guilty Pleasure
Saturday, February 20, 2010

Hey.

I know that I basically swore that I'd be a good little girl and study for my exam this whole week.
But I didn't; and shit, I feel like the dumbest person on the planet.

Oh well, I guess I had a little fun during the week.
Using the computer, outing with my friends, jogging with my brother, shopping with my mum.
Not necessarily in that order.

Had the outing with my friends yesterday at One Utama with Jazmeen, Lela, Adlyn and Iqma.
First, we waited patiently for Lela to come with Sabrina, but Lela couldn't find Sab's house, causing Sab not to come. While waiting though, we went down to get some pretzels and ate, like the hungry little kids we were.
Then, we went to GSC to maybe, watch a movie. But we decided against it since it would probably take up most of our time. So, we went to eat at Arena (they were still hungry, pfft) at the Old Wing.
After that, Jaz and Alyn went to pray; leaving Lela, Iqma and I. So, the three of us went into a random shop (Pink Evil's Fashion Supermarket) to try on clothes. Found a greenish-blue blouse that is oh-so-pretty and Lela found a purple dress. Both cost RM69.
Lela wanted to buy the dress, but in the end didn't. I didn't even bother to buy the blouse since I was already plotting to drag my mum to the same shop and make her buy it for me (I'm such a nice daughter, aren't I?).
Whilst walking along the row of shops, all of us eventually went inside Bonita to look at accessories. Everyone ended up buying something, except me.
Then, walked to Cotton On before heading to the bowling alley to meet Farhan and Karl.

Played almost-a full game with them before heading home at six.
And that's just the shortened story.

Anyway, I went to Pink Evil's with my mum today and managed to buy the greenish-blue blouse. :D
Before I bought it though, I also tried on a lime green/black mini-dress and couldn't decide which to buy. So, I asked for the opinion of one of the sales people and she said that the blouse looked better on me. Ahah.
After that, my mum and I walked along the row of shops - popping in and out along the way - and eventually headed home since my mum didn't really feel like shopping. ):

Tonight, I'm going to One Utama (AGAIN) to have dinner with my relatives.
Steamboat, mm.
I'm going to wear my new blouse! :D

Aw, shit.

I still have homework to complete.

School Days
Saturday, February 13, 2010

Hello, everybody! :D
It's holiday time and I plan to spend most of my time studying; aren't I a good student? 8D
Bahah, anyway...
Some interesting stuff happened during my last week of school.

1. I told Adam off.
Okay, so, Adam read my essay on "A Job As A Reporter" earlier on in class. I didn't think much about it at the time.
But, when my friends went to do nasyid during Sivik time, teacher figured he didn't have many students in the class and let us do our own stuff. Most of us did our homework. Adam was one of them; he did his essay about the photo composition.
And you know what? He practically did the same thing that I did for the Reporter essay.
So, I was effing annoyed and pointed out to him that he copied my format, and he just went, "No lah!".
Even when it was like this;

Alisa's: "As we sip our own teas in the dining room of my house..." *sister-in-law tells me how she works as a reporter*
Adam's: "As I sit on a bench in the garden of my house..." *friend tells him about the food poisoning she encountered*
Low-life.
He even had the nerve to ask me how to continue on with the story when he was stuck. So, I said: "I won't help you because you have no originality"
And damn, it felt good. But then, the whole class went "whooh" and teacher was like, staring at me. Whoops.

2. I did a debate presentation with Adlyn because our partners (Afifa, Jo Yee) weren't in class
We were the last to do our presentation; dunno, maybe teacher gave us extra time since we baru bincangkan.
We started off quite okay, but ended in a better state.
'cause the debate topic we did nearing the end was of the city being too noisy and congested, and I, as the city girl, cut the country girl (Alyn XD) off by going,
"But do you KNOW why people are so busy? Okay, the majority of city people are teenagers, girls at that, and knowing teenage girls, they're always rushing to get new fashion items and such. For example, *brings out tote bag* I bought this at One Utama for only RM10! Isn't that cheap? The material is sturdy and it's well-made!"

And Alyn ended our debate by arguing that country people actually can make their own bags using natural stuff. (:
When we finished our debate and were going back to our seats, teacher said, "Finally, a good debate for today!" and I felt really proud. Lmaowtf.
But I felt bad for the other groups. ._.'

3. Adlyn and I talked to seniors and goofed off during rumah sukan
When teacher told us to jog a few rounds around the old basketball court, Alyn and I fast-walked. And boy, was it funny when people saw us. We even persuaded our seniors to do the same, and they did, but they ended up walking the rest of the rounds. XD
After that, we spent the rest of the time sitting in a circle with three of our Yellow House seniors, Syazwani (f3), Qistina (f3) and Athirah (f5).
They told us ghost stories and Kak Athirah even told us creepy stories about what happened in her house masa dulu.
Ohmygod, creepy as hell. And her house is huge! Macam stadium! There's even a surau in the house wei!
Ahaha, she said she'd invite us over if ada open house for Hari Raya. Yay. :D

3. I actually talked a lot to people whom I rarely talk to in class
This mostly applies to Weii Shan and Jo Yee. I also talked to Ashley and Lynette quite a bit. (:
Weii Shan was the one who witnessed the Adam event and was actually proud of what I did, wth. xD
And she was my partner for when we had to partner up and play a game in the English textbook.
I sat with Jo Yee during PJ time 'cause I didn't want to sit alone (Weii Shan didn't come, Afifa either), so we talked about stuff while I was finishing my picture composition ('Joyah') essay.
And y'know what? She likes Vampire Weekend! Omg, I swear I shouted and almost hugged her when she said that, since I loove Vampire Weekend. x)
VW is named the "whitest band" by StuffWhitePeopleLike. Bahaha.

Okay, I guess I'm done.
I'm just going to end this post with VW's "White Sky", my favourite song of their album, Contra.

be strong, be strong, be strong.

(11:02pm)

I feel like hell.
I knew I shouldn't have gargled the stupid medicine when it had white patches in the liquid - but noo, I just went ahead and did it to ease my stupid sore-throat-to-ear sickness.
AND NOW I FEEL WORSE.

I keep spitting, almost vomitted (stopped myself), my stomach's twisting and turning and I feel really dizzy and frustrated with all this.
I shouldn't have, I shouldn't have, I shouldn't have...

Now I'm just worried that I'll wake up to aches and pains tomorrow morning, making me skip school and softball.
School - whatever. But softball - NEED.
'cause we're going to bincang about the perlantikan this year and I really want to be AJK Tingkatan 2.
I know my chances are slim since almost everyone wants a jawatan this year, and mostly it's the AJK.

Hi, I'm Alisa.
I get weird sicknesses and I'm hopeless in everything.
